N. K. Premachandran is an Indian politician. He is the present Member of Parliament from Kollam Loksabha constituency. He is the former minister for Water Resources in the government of Kerala, and is responsible for irrigation, ground water development, water supply and sanitation. He was the Member of Parliament of India in both the Houses of the parliament (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha)An extensively travelled Premachandran had written a book "Oh Iraq" based on his travel experience to Iraq. N.K. Premachandran is currently the Central Secretariat Member of the Revolutionary Socialist Party. He was instrumental in taking up the issue of the safety of Mullaperiyar dam. Now, he has got a death threat for taking up the issue. He initiated a number of innovative steps in drinking water sector.
